The group costume everyone finally agreed on. The kid who changed their mind three times. The office party that somehow turned competitive. Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, and the costumes people are searching for most in 2026 have one thing in common: the hardest part can be printed.
So we did what a print shop does with a trend. We pulled Google Trends data on more than 70 costume searches across the U.S., kept the ones where a DTF transfer does the heavy lifting, and ranked them. For each one you'll get why it's hot right now, what goes on your gang sheet, and a twist that makes it yours. Whether you're pressing for your own crew or stocking your next Halloween drop, start here.
How we ranked them: each costume's score combines Google search interest for the costume and its main characters (Woody, Jessie and Buzz all count toward Toy Story) from September 28 to October 4, 2026, in the U.S. The most-searched costume is set to 100. The product photos in this post are concept mockups made to show each idea.
Why FASTFILM™ DTF makes costumes easy
- Full color, zero weeding. FASTFILM™ DTF prints the whole design, gradients and fine lines included. If you can draw it, you can wear it.
- Big pieces and small pieces on one sheet. Build a gang sheet up to 22.5 inches wide and mix a full-front panel with name tags, cap badges and sleeve prints.
- Works on the blanks you already have. Cotton, polyester and blends, light or dark. Need blanks? We carry those too.
- No minimums, no setup fees. One costume or the whole cul-de-sac.
- Built to outlast October. Prints are made to hold up for 75+ washes, so the costume tee becomes a regular tee in November.
- Lightning-fast shipping. Orders in by 2 PM Eastern ship the same day, and local crews can pick up same day at our shop in Dallas, Georgia.
#1 Toy Story (Woody, Jessie and Buzz)
2026 search score: 100 / 100

Why it's trending: Toy Story 5 opened June 19 with the biggest debut in franchise history and went on to earn more than $1.1 billion worldwide. Woody, Jessie and Buzz each rank among the most-searched character costumes this fall, and there's a character for every age. That makes it the easiest family theme on the list.
The DTF move: put the sewing machine away. Print the cow-spot vest and the gold sheriff star right onto a yellow tee and your sheriff is ready to ride. For a space ranger, press a control panel onto a white long-sleeve tee or hoodie.
Big-print tip: the vest panels are large transfers, so size them to your shirt and your press. Our gang sheets run up to 22.5 inches wide, which covers most adult fronts. If a panel is bigger than your platen, split it into two pieces, press each side separately, and test on a spare blank first.
Make it more fun: in the movies, Woody's owner writes his name on the boot. Print your kid's name (or yours) and press it onto a boot cover, tote or trick-or-treat bag so everyone knows whose toy they are.
- Sheriff star
- Cow-spot vest panels, sized to the shirt
- Space ranger control panel
- A name for the boot or bag
#2 Spider-Man
2026 search score: 60 / 100

Why it's trending: Spider-Man: Brand New Day swung into theaters July 31 with the biggest opening weekend in box office history. The National Retail Federation's 2026 survey also has Spider-Man as the No. 1 kids' costume, with 4.6 million kids planning to suit up. Searches for Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen push the score even higher.
The DTF move: thin stretchy suits rip by the third house. A hoodie doesn't. Design your own spider emblem, wrap it in a web, and press it onto a hoodie in any color. It's warm on a cold night, it survives a full candy run, and they'll keep wearing it in November.
Make it more fun: anyone can be a spider hero. Pick your colors, draw your own spider and put a hero name across the back (Spider-Kai, anyone?). The same move works for whatever superhero your kid is into this year.
- A large spider emblem for the chest, plus a small spider for a sleeve or cap
- A web corner for the hood or shoulder
- Your hero name for the back
#3 Super Mario Bros.
2026 search score: 49 / 100

Why it's trending: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie opened April 1 and passed $1 billion worldwide. Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach each pull big search numbers on their own, which makes this one of the strongest group costumes of the year.
The DTF move: don't go hunting for overalls in five sizes. Print the denim bib, straps, stitching and gold buttons as one design on a red tee (green for the younger brother). Then press a white circle with an initial onto a red or green cap.
Big-print tip: that overalls print covers a lot of shirt. Size it to each tee, and press a sample before you run the whole family.
Make it more fun: put your own initial on every cap. The whole family gets a letter, and Grandma gets a G.
- One complete overalls design with the bib, straps, stitching and gold buttons built in
- A letter badge for every cap in the family
#4 KPop Demon Hunters
2026 search score: 41 / 100

Why it's trending: it's Netflix's most-watched movie ever, a sequel is officially on the way, and it was Google's No. 1 trending costume last Halloween. Rumi is still one of 2026's most-searched character costumes, with Mira and Zoey right behind her.
The DTF move: the whole look lives in those glowing purple patterns. Print the pattern in violet and gold down one sleeve of a black long-sleeve tee, keeping it on the flat part of the sleeve between the shoulder seam and the cuff, then add a crew name across the chest. The glow is printed color, and DTF handles those soft gradients without breaking a sweat.
Make it more fun: go as a trio or the whole squad, with each member's name on the back. Then let the dads start a rival boy band in black tees with a band name of their own.
- A violet pattern strip for the sleeve
- Crew name for the chest
- Member names for the back
- Sparkle accents
#5 The Thriller Jacket
2026 search score: 32 / 100

Why it's trending: Michael, the Michael Jackson biopic, opened in April and became the first biopic ever to pass $1 billion worldwide. Searches for Michael Jackson and Thriller costumes are some of the highest on our list.
The DTF move: the red jacket is all about the black V. Press two pairs of black stripes onto any red zip hoodie or jacket so they meet at the zipper, and the costume reads from across the room.
Make it more fun: make it a group. One person gets the jacket, and everyone else gets a matching Zombie Crew tee. Rehearse the dance before the party, not during it.
- Left and right stripe pairs
- A Zombie Crew design for the backup dancers
#6 Thing 1 and Thing 2
2026 search score: 19 / 100

Why it's trending: a new animated Cat in the Hat movie, with Bill Hader as the Cat, opens November 6. The trailer sent Cat in the Hat costume searches to the top of our list in early September, and they're climbing again as Halloween gets closer.
The DTF move: a red tee with a big number in a white circle might be the most DTF-friendly costume ever made. Press a 1 and a 2 onto red tees, put each person's name under their number, add blue wigs, and you're done in an evening.
Make it more fun: why stop at two? One gang sheet holds numbers 3 through 13 for the whole family, classroom or office, with a name on every circle. Teachers, this one's yours.
- A numbered circle with a name for everyone in the group
- Mixed sizes on one sheet: big circles for adults, smaller ones for kids
#7 Pokémon Trainer
2026 search score: 15 / 100

Why it's trending: Pokémon turned 30 this year, and the anniversary has been a year-long party, right down to the 30th Celebration card set that dropped in September. Pikachu leads the searches, with Ash and Team Rocket close behind.
The DTF move: kids go as Pikachu. Parents go as the trainers. Press a Gym Leader tee for Dad and a badge of your own design onto a red-and-white trucker cap.
Make it more fun: design a set of family gym badges (the Candy Badge, the Bedtime Badge, the Clean Your Room Badge) and press them in a row on a jacket or sash.
- Cap badge
- Gym Leader and Trainer tee designs
- A row of custom gym badges
#8 Minecraft
2026 search score: 15 / 100

Why it's trending: Minecraft is a year-round favorite, and the chicken jockey moment from A Minecraft Movie still hasn't left the playground.
The DTF move: pixel art was made for DTF, and every square presses sharp. Put a pixel health bar and a pixel chicken on a teal tee for a blocky, Steve-style look, and save the pixel pickaxe for the back or a tote.
Make it more fun: put a pixel chicken on the back so the costume yells "chicken jockey!" every time they walk away. Add their name in a pixel font.
- Pixel chicken
- Health bar hearts
- Pixel pickaxe
- A name in a pixel font
#9 Race Car and F1 Driver
2026 search score: 14 / 100

Why it's trending: F1 fandom keeps growing in the U.S., and 2026 is the first season for Cadillac's new American F1 team. Race car driver and F1 costume searches are climbing fast this month.
The DTF move: a driver's suit is all sponsor patches, and DTF nails small text and loud color. Press a full set onto a white zip hoodie, coveralls or a long-sleeve tee, and add red stripes down the sleeves.
Make it more fun: invent your own sponsors. Nap Racing. Candy Corn Motor Oil. Grandma's Meatloaf. Use your house number as your race number, and bring a partner along as the pit crew.
- Six to ten made-up sponsor patches
- Race number
- Checkered strip and sleeve stripes
- A Pit Crew patch for your partner
#10 Minions
2026 search score: 13 / 100

Why it's trending: Minions & Monsters opened July 1 and earned more than $500 million worldwide. Minion and Gru searches are holding steady, and it's one of the easiest big-group costumes out there.
The DTF move: one printed design puts the blue overalls, stitching, buttons and a little gauge on the bib right onto a yellow tee. It's all one transfer, so there's nothing to layer and only one design to press. Like the vest in #1, it's a big print, so size it to the shirt and test it first.
Make it more fun: make it an office costume. Everyone gets a Henchman in Training shirt, and the boss gets the black one. Toss the banana on the same sheet for a tote or a lanyard.
- One complete overalls design with the gauge built in
- A Henchman in Training design for a second shirt
- A banana, because why not
Honorable mentions
These just missed the top 10 on search volume, but they're killer DTF costumes:
- Hockey jersey couples. Prime Video's Off Campus and HBO Max's Heated Rivalry made hockey romance one of the year's big stories, and Spirit Halloween calls Off Campus a top costume trend. Press a name and number on a pair of jerseys and you're on the same team.
- Ghostbusters. Name tags and a team logo of your own design on tan coveralls.
- Stranger Things. The series wrapped last New Year's Eve. Design a tee for your own D&D club.
- Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. A number 87 jersey and a Showgirl-era top make an easy couples costume.
Stocking a Halloween drop?
If you sell shirts, the trend is your opportunity and the design is yours to make. The ideas on this list that sell best are the personal ones:
- Number crew tees with a name on every circle, sold by the family, the classroom or the office
- Race jackets covered in made-up sponsors for couples and friend groups
- Gym Leader tees for dads, coaches and teachers
- Henchman in Training tees for office teams
Put every order on one gang sheet, mix your sizes, and keep your margins healthy. We price our transfers with your profit in mind. Just keep it original: the best costumes put your own spin on a famous look, and that keeps you clear of trademark trouble. Only print artwork you created or have the rights to use.
Time to warm up the heat press
Every heat press runs a little different, so test your temperature, time and pressure on a spare blank first. Here are our quick start settings:
- Heat your press to 315–325°F with firm pressure (60–80 PSI).
- Pre-press the garment for 10 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
- Place the transfer full-color side up and press for 15 seconds.
- Let it cool to the touch, then peel the film.
- Cover the design with a cover sheet and press again for 10 seconds.
Pressing a heat-sensitive fabric? Drop to 265–280°F and press for 20 seconds on the first press. For big panels like the cow-spot vest or printed overalls, size the transfer to the blank and to your platen, split anything bigger than your press into separate pieces, and run a sample first. Don't let shipping be the scariest part

Quick questions
Can I put DTF transfers on things that aren't shirts?
Yes. DTF transfers press onto hoodies, jackets, hats and totes. For hard surfaces like cups, tumblers and candy jars, use FOREVERFILM™ UV DTF, which goes on without a heat press. Keep the apparel designs on your DTF sheet and build a separate UV DTF sheet for the hard goods.
Do I need a heat press?
A heat press gives you even heat and pressure, and it's what our press settings are written for.
What if I only need one or two pieces?
There are no minimums. Order transfers by size for a single design. It works on your phone and has a built-in AI background remover and upscaler. When you have a lot of pieces, a gang sheet is the better deal.
What if my prints aren't right?
If you aren't completely satisfied with your transfers, we'll reprint them until you are. Questions before you order? Call us at (404) 400-5420. We answer when you call.
Load up your costume gang sheet
Pick your costume, lay out every piece on one sheet, and press it the same week. No minimums, no setup fees, and orders in by 2 PM Eastern ship the same day.
